Heart eyes // Styling pink and red for people who hate pink and red

Alternative fashion blogger foxxtailz

If you hadn’t guessed by now, pink is my favourite colour BUT what you won’t have guessed is that I really dislike mixing pink and red together, I hate it and just can’t deal with it.

“But Jess, you’re literally mixing pink and red together in this, what the actual F are you talking about?”

I know, I’m as surprised by it as you are, but it kinda just happened. Let me set the scene for you. It was one of those beaut winter days, the sky a glorious shade of blue that gets you all excited for spring BUT leads you into a false sense of security when you step outside and you're legit chilled to the bone. Once Christmas is out of the way, I get excited for spring. I know we're currently barely into winter but still. I just can’t help it, a new year means to me that spring will soon be on its way bringing with it the sunny skies I love and the pastel wardrobe I crave all year round but just amplified. Basically, I just get dead excited.

Last weekend, I was having a look through my trusty rail of my brightly coloured curated goodness I’ve been working on all year and spotted my Nobody’s Child dress I was gifted last year and had the sudden urge to dust it off and give it an outing for the first time in a long time. I also clocked my strawberry bag and lil Red Devil beret and before I could say I hate pink and red together, I was piecing together a very cute spring outfit - if I do say so myself. With pink being the main focus of the look, I could tolerate the red accents here and there in my accessories. I really loved how it all came together. I felt like for the first time in a while, I was able to put together a very “me" outfit, something I’ve really struggled with over winter.

Added bonus, this look has a very Valentine's Day feel to it which I ain't mad about, not like I’m super into Valentine's Day or anything, I just really love me some cute Valentine's Day fashion.

Now all that's left for me to do is patiently wait for winter to do one so glorious spring can arrive. I’m excited.
