Doing more of what I want

This photo set is when I needed a good kick up the butt when it came to content creation. I got stuck in a rut and fell out of love with my blog, IG and my other social media platforms. It became more of a chore then a fun hobby and I found it quite gruelling and life controlling. Everything I did felt boring and stale and I lost my way with it a bit. I think a lot of the time, most of us subconsciously put out what we think we need to in order to fit into that social media box rather then what we want to - thus turning it into a boring job.

I took to Pinterest to actually unitise the inspo shots I’d pinned a million years full of good intentions yo use them as inspiration when it came to making my own imagery and bring a little something more to my OOTD’s. I got up early with James one morning, armed with my camera and a head full on inpso, we spent a few hours seeking out locations and having fun getting ~the shot~

I stopped seeing my accounts as chores and got excited for the weekend to create again. My mind set is if the imagery bombs [we all know how fickle IG is] then I didn’t really care because I liked them, if they were a hit, then it was a bonus. I really wanted to do these outfits justice as I got to collab with one of my fave brands, I wanted to make sure I did a good job and decided they were the perfect pieces to wear whilst experimenting with a new style of shooting. My fave piece out of the three is - surprisingly to me the red midi dress. I’ve also been put off midis, they never really seem to suit me and I can never find one that looks right. This one s perfect, I love the double split that brills a dramatic flare and I love the tie and cut out detailing on the top.

The pink dress is equally as cute, I’m not usually a fan of pink and red as a colour combo but as its only slight, it wasn’t that that hard to get on board with. Fully in love with the corset/tie detailing at the sides. The bowling shirt I HAD to get. I fell completely in love with the tiger print, the boxy shape and the fact I have nothing like this in my wardrobe. Plus is livens up an ordinary jean and top combo for in-between weather days - pretty much what we’re experiencing now.

I’m super happy I was able to fall in love with creating again and wearing these fun pieces definitely helped.
