What I wore in Amsterdam

Alternative Blogger Foxxtailz
Ok so lol, I am WELL aware at how late this post is as I was in Amsterdam 2 weeks ago - I’m already craving another trip. James and I have been talking about going back to Paris in the summer as 1) we couldn’t afford to last year and 2) when you’re terrified of flying, there are only so many places you can get to on the Eurostar - not like I mind, Paris is rad and I’ve been dying to go back since our last trip in 2016.

So, back to Amsterdam. For an organised person, I am terrible at packing and HATE HATE HATE it. I never know what to wear, over pack and change my mind 291072017 times on the outfits I’ve picked out. I always regret what I’ve packed and hate not having the luxury of more wardrobe in its entirety to choose from. I wanted to make sure that on this trip I nailed my packing - and I think I did.

Day one as I knew there would be a lot of time spent travelling, I wanted to be comfy. I checked the weather before hand and knew it would be pretty pants the first day and then going into some beaut winter sun at the end of the trip. As comfort and warmth [it was Feb after all] were the main factors, I picked out my Lil Peep hoodie and paired it with my super ripped Topshop Jeans. I got these a little while ago but as the weather has been grim, I hadn’t really had the opportunity to wear them much, meaning now I’m wearing them at every given chance. Now as this is me, I can’t be doing with a simple hoodie and jeans combo, I need to add something a bit ridiculous. For colour I opted for my LazyOaf roll neck and the ridiculous factor, my orange bomber jacket. This jacket is the greatest thing ever because 1) it’s bright orange, 2) I feel like a tennis ball in it and 3) It’s the first thing I’ve ever owned with an inside pocket - legit game changer. For shoes, the obvious choice of course was going to be my converse for comfort.

Day two the weather started to perk up and I could do away with the warmth factor. I’d been saving these Zara culottes I’d picked up in the sale for £6 [I know right] for the trip and had been dying to wear them. I love me a culotte. I nicked James’ Pale Waves long sleeve and finished the look off with my LazyOaf vinyl jacket I got in the sale [finally a vinyl jacket I loved after searching for so long] and a pair of under platform boots from Koi - hands down some of the comfiest things I’ve ever worn. I wasn’t too sure if my culottes were cropped enough for these big stomp boots but loved how the outfit came together in the end.

Day three and our last day was the warmest. I could do away with my big orange bomber jacket of warmth and could get away with my LO jacket for the second time of the trip. I’d recently picked up this Monki tartan dungaree dress and was excited that the weather seemed warm enough to permit me to wear it without freezing my butt off - lucky me. I stuck my Topshop super soft grey light knit under and added my Koi boots and fishnets to toughen it up. Once the weather turns nice again I can’t wait to revisit this outfit.
