Weekly round up #9 Red’ BBQ event, forgotten post and wholesome Sunday’s

Whoops this post is coming at you a little bit late as I’ve basically spent the day with some of my oldest and best friends. I headed off to Selby see my pal Andrew to catch up and head to the gym. Before I moved back to Leeds, I used to work out with Andy quite a lot in one of the most ghetto gyms ever - I legit swear to god some of the equipment in there must be from the 70’s at least. So it was cool to go back. Afterwards we grabbed some food and went off to Wistow to pop in and see Charlotte and John for a cup of tea and a chat. It was a very wholesome way to spend a Sunday. I really, really love my friends and I really love our little group.

Also this week, I headed off to Red’s True BBQ with James to try out their new veggie and vegan range. Full disclaimer this was a gifted experience, not in exchange for a review or whatever, the lovely guys at Reds just wanted to share their new range and get some honest feedback. Can 10000% confirm it was freaking good. It’s always kind of an anti-climax when a place boasts about a veggie or vegan option to find it’s some sad variation of a bean burger. At Red’s the choice was INSANE. For starters we had popcorn jackfruit, Mac and cheese balls and mushrooms on Texas Toast. My fave was the Mac and cheese balls - super into Mac and cheese at the moment. For mains there is so much choice, so much so, I’ve kinda forgotten it all . . . .  I remember absolutely loving the moving mountains vegan burger! For anyone that fancies something a little lighter, there are the super greens board, a cauliflower steak [bloody loved this too] and some glorious side to choose from - the corn on the cob was the winner for me. I also enjoyed a dirty margarita and of course, one of the shakes. It’s basically against the law to go to Red’s and not have one of the shakes. It’s wicked to have another place to eat in Leeds that ACTUALLY caters for veggie and vegans with more than just a sad old bean burger to offer.

What I’ve Loved this week

1) Podcasts, holy heck I can’t get enough of them. I’ve really loved Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place.
2) My new purple Monki Jeans - I’ve been really, really careful with what I’ve been buying recently and watching our money as we are legit SO CLOSE to clearing the last of our “debt” every spare penny has gone towards it, I’ve sold a bunch of old clothes to get to our goal closer which has also meant no unnecessary purchases [clothes] however, I saw these mini jeans the beginning of the year and couldn’t stop thinking about them. I saw they had been reduced in the ASOS sale so snapped this up  - bad Jess. Legit can’t wait to wear them all summer
3) Easter eggs. I’m currently supposed to be giving sugar the boot but lads, when you’re on your period, there's no way of ignoring those kinds of cravings. I have had 3 Easter eggs this weekend and I’m not even sorry.
4) After Life by Ricky Gervais, we watched this in its entirety on Saturday night and got all the feels
5) We also watched Leaving Neverland - an actual minefield
6) My Paramore Pre-order from January finally came! Love it when something in the post turns up you forgot about
7) I topped up my TBR pile, it was getting a little low so had no choice BUT to get more books right?

Until net time lads XO
