Weekly round up #8 getting ill and birthday hangs in London

Guys, I’m really, really tired. This blog post NEARLY didn’t happen and I low key kinda wish I had Monday off to just recuperate but I don’t and I need to suck it up. This week has been a solid 4/5 if I had to give it a rating. Monday didn’t start off so great, James and I got ill in Amsterdam [James more so than me, he’s been in bed all week with what we think was flu] I had the day off, something I was wracked with guilt for, Its from my days working at Morrison’s and The Skills Network, you would be practically outcasted if you dared call in sick. I remember one time whilst I was working at Morrison’s I was throwing up in a bucket while completing an audit and I still wasn’t allowed to go home. Excellent in a place people buy food from. So now I don’t work in places that shun you for getting ill, but I still feel super bad whenever I call in sick.

And then I kinda can’t remember what happened the rest of the week? I came home to a bunch of surprise blogger mail from Heart Revolution and Obsession make up. Truthfully I meant to take photos but I completely forgot. This weekend has been such a whirlwind. Friday I attended pole class after not being able to go last week because I was in Amsterdam. I have a pole friend now so I’m not so scared when I go to class, we basically spend the hour egging each other on, doing celebratory dances when we nail a move and basically just make each other laugh - I really love it :) I also got a split move thing that I didn’t think I’d be able to do - I’m not very flexible ha.

Saturday was my very good friend Kitty’s birthday meal out. My other good friend Vicki and I had already planned to hang out this Saturday in London a little while ago and it just so happened on Kitty’s birthday meal day. This trip was my third of the year, yes I know it’s ridiculous but I love going [I dread to think how much money I’ve spent on travel in the last year, thank the lord for 26-30 rail cards] I got there around half 2 and was so bloody hungry after doing a run in the gym that morning all I could think about was vegan Mac and Cheese. I met Vicki at Kings Cross and we headed to eat by Chloe so Vicki could charge her phone and we could stock up on carbs. After we successfully ate our body weight in beige, Vicki and I went to hunt down some gifts for our fave yellow haired Vegan.

For Kitty’s birthday meal, she’d booked a table at a Vegan place called Genesis at Shoreditch. The place was so cool inside with pink neon lights and wicked art everywhere. I went for the chorizo taco with fries and a cheeky chocolate milkshake. It was wicked to hang out with all my London pals over some good food! Shame the staff were a bit offish. The night was finished off with the most craziest cake Kitty got as a surprise from Vida bakery - all Vegan and GF goodness!

What I’ve Loved this week

  • My LazyOaf Teddy Bag. I’m so pleased I was able to grab one on the second drop. I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything so fast.
  • My Koi Boots I got gifted just before I headed to Amsterdam, I bloody love platform boots
  • Pot Noodles [lol]
  • Hair clips, the more the better
  • Space buns, I’m trying to reduced the amount of heat I put on my hair and I’ve been enjoying re-visiting an old fave of mine

What I’ve read this week

lol not a lot, I’ve been battling with In the days of rain. It’s legit one of the most boring things I’ve ever read, but I’m too far in to quit it now.

Until next week lads.

  1. Sounds like you had a fab time for Kitty's birthday! Food looks amazing, hope you and James are feeling better after being poorly.

  2. That is truly awful of Morrison's to make you continue working whilst you are puking... wow.

Pole looks like so much fun! I wish there was somewhere I could learn here.
