On slowing down and enjoying your success

Alternative fashion blogger foxxtailz
Oh fuck guys I’ve forgotten how to intro a blog post. I feel like I’ve lost my tone of voice. I really am feeling out of practice with things. I’m feeling stale and boring  and the pressure to be anything but is starting to niggle at me. I think the problem is, I’ve lost my newbie blogger flow. After 4 years of blogging, I’m finding it more and more difficult to create because I’m forever second guessing what I put out, something I never used to do at the start. As the years go on, everything gets that little bit more saturated.

Which [kinda] brings me to the point of this post, as well as the oversaturatedness - is that a word? red wiggly line under it says no. We’re always rushing to the next thing, the next goal, the next achievement without slowing down and taking in the really great stuff were doing. We get all Ariana Grande and “thank you, next” our achievements when really we should be sitting back and revelling how fricking fab we are and what we’ve succeeded in. Your blog worth shouldn’t be measured in how many brand deals you can score and I am 10000% guilty thinking that about myself. Each achievement we get, big or small is something to be celebrated. I’m quick to forget that and almost immediately after look for the next thing. Having goals and targets is fine, it’s human nature to want more, to improve to be better.

Things have gone quite for me and I panicked thinking that was it, game over, I do this everytime it happens and then think I’m no good. So whenever that happens and I start to get the self doubt thoughts about my worth, I remind myself of the achievements I’ve had in the last 4 years. Every single one of them big or small, I reflected on the pretty wild and hectic summer I had, the cool things I got to do and realise I should, to put it bluntly, shut the fuck up. What will be will be and I’m going to concentrate on slowing down and enjoy this ride instead of rushing through.
