Never ready for sweater weather

Alternative Fashion Blogger Foxxtailz Styles The Ragged Priest
I mean like ever ever.

I’m never ready for autumn, nor am I winter. I get a little weepy when it gets colder knowing that summer is on its way out.“ But Jess, what about knitwear? The leaves changing and hot drinks that taste like pumpkins?” I hear you cry. Fam, you’ll have to do a lot better then that to convince me autumn/winter is something to get exited about. It’s all well and good looking forward to autumn I guess, but with that brings the impending doom of winter, and I fucking hate it.

The crisp mornings and the colours of autumn are all great until the novelty wears off 4 days in and you realise just how fucking cold it gets and how shit it is you have to wear 8940907237 layers just so you don’t catch frost bite, you can’t remember what the sun looks like and Frick, why is it so dark at 3.30pm?! For me, winter feels like I’m being suffocated - but knitwear and hot drinks right? RIGHT!? I hate the inconvenience of it.  I hate that the sky is constantly a depressing shade of grey that feel like I’m getting squished under. I hate how the days seem constantly dark, I hate that everything in winter seems like a fricking effort. I’m not a huge fan of the festive period [ I have 7 years of working at Morrison’s to thank for that] Christmas just isn’t my bag and personally causes so much unnecessary stress you just can’t escape - no matter how early you try to get on top of things.

I realise I sound like a moany ass bitch but alas, I do not care. I’m sad and in mourning that my favourite time of year, the season I thrive in, is nearly over. To combat the sadness, I tend to live in complete denial, I utilise as much of my summer wardrobe as possible - right until the very last minute I can get away with it and then from there, I try not to give into the drab tones of winter and bring in the bright of summer way into the depths of winter. My way of giving a big fuck you to my most hated season.

On reflection, I have had one of the best summers ever. We have been blessed with a actual season, where people in the UK managed to get actual tans and I was able to get my get away sticks out for more then 4 consecutive days in a row. I’m just kinda sad it’s now all over. So you can bet your butt just cos it’s now September, I’ll still be savouring that summer vibe for as long as possible before I too have to succumb to knitwear [never pumpkin spiced hot drinks though, their nasty].
