My love for novelty vs. Designer

Alternative Fashion Blogger Foxxtailz
I've always felt a bit meh when it comes to owning designer items. I know for some they live and breath all thangs designer and probs have a list as long as their arm of their dream designer pieces that they would love to someday own which is a ok - we like what we like,  but I can take it or leave it. I have a few bits of Viv [It's basically Westwood or nothing if I'm doing it] but for the most part, I'm ok. When it comes to fashion, I love all aspects of it, I love the creativity and the uniqueness it carries. I love how through fashion, you can project an extension of your personality. It's really bloody fun and it's really bloody great how it makes you feel.

I kinda also really really like novelty fashion. I'm talking faux feather bags, Jelly bags, shoes made out of plastic, jeans with impractical heart but cut of them but who cares they look fab. I think elements of this kind of fashion pander to my love of Tokyo Street fashion, the weird and the wonderful. They literally take ANYTHING and make it fashion and I basically can't get enough of it.

With that in mind I *try* to channel that into my outfits, I like to think that some aspect of my outfit that day will have a nod to Harajuku fashion. One of my latest editions to my ''Harajuku-esque'' wardrobe is another rad AF bag kindly gifted to my from the guys at Jelly Jolly. This time around I went for a super cute glitter gold version and by adding it to a simple jean and jumper combo, I've managed to get that Harajuku element that I love so much in there.

  1. I'm not a huge fan of designer either, there's a few things I'd like but in general I don't think it's worth it for me, I really love your style though! x
