The need for a statement Suit

Oh hey, It's been a while. Well actually no it hasn't, It's only been a week since I uploaded a post to my blog BUT seeing as I wrote and scheduled all that content wayyyyy before I moved, it's felt like an age since I did any content creation. Last weekend Jim and I took the plunge and moved to the city leaving little time in between unpacking boxes and putting up flat packed furniture to shoot anything and then with the added issue of being sans internet made it impossible to get anything up even if I wanted to. It's so good to be back!

Last month I was lucky enough to be contacted by a new up and coming clothing brand LOTD and asked to pick some bits out from there website to style up. After having a browse on the site I fell in love with 2 outfits. First up is this incredible midnight blue velvet suit. I have wanted to own a suit for the longest time ever since Zara last year had a line of vibrant power suits, so, after seeing this one on the site, it was a no-brainer I picked it out. I've always loved the way statement suits are styled with a lace bralette to peep out from a button up jacket, this jacket, however, didn't fasten up but let's just pretend for poetic licence.

My beaut blogger friend Rachel also lent a helping hand when it came styling up this suit and recommended a mesh top [I couldn't find mine and took the plunge and went with the bralette thanngg] and hair up and I really dig how it all turned out. Usually, a suit of this nature is worn with a pair of killer heels but this is me we're talking about and honestly, I detest wearing them. They're uncomfortable, I tower over everyone when wearing them and I also look like an unbalanced giraffe when I try to walk in them, cute. So I went for my trusty creepers instead, I've been interchanging wearing these with my Docs ever since they arrived. Mixed with the velvet suit, I feel like they bring a huge grunge vibe that you all know I love to the outfit.
