On nailing winter fashion fears

Holy heck, winter is definitely here isn't it?! I literally have forgotten what It's like not to feel like an ice cube. This time of year I find myself searching for the warmest stuff in my wardrobe. I live in oversized knits, beanies and my even more oversized scarf. That thing is permanently attached around my neck from Septemeber right up until April. I should probably put it in the wash. . . . Ahem.

I struggle with winter fashion. It doesn't fulfill my need for colour and mad clashing patterns. It's all about trying not to freeze your butt off. I can't see to get the right balance warm/practical with stylish. I guess because my style is a little bit impractical . . . . IDK. HOWEVER, recently I have been dabbling in black/grays in my outfits and for once not actually hating it and feeling boring whilst doing so. I'm guessing that mainly is due to my new day glow neon orange hair completely compensating for the lack of colour in my outfit choices. That and this beaut knitted sweater dress from Tobi has started to change my opinion.

Ya gals a bit tall and in the winter time that is a problem, cold ankles due to not being able to find jeans long enough to fit my legs and the reason for my love and need of a novelty sock, cold stomach back due to sweaters not being long enough to cover me up, I constantly find myself pulling them down to fight the chill. So when I was asked to pick out a few pieces from Tobi, I went for this knitted sweater dress. In the past, I have tried and failed at styling them up, also feeling frumpy and also hating the outcome. This time around I.LOVE.IT. I love the length, I love how warm it is, I love the little-ripped detailing and most importantly it actually fits in the way its supposed to. 12/10 would fully recommend.

I've also discovered that black and grey make a really dreamy combo - Who'd have thought it right?! So, it was a no-brainer I threw on my ASOS Mom dreams into the mix - only thing was that my butt got cold [I've mentioned my butt a lot in this post haven't I?!]

  3. Definitely love this look! I wear a lot more black and grey in the winter, though I also love still trying to be cosy in a lot of colours too
