72HRS in Manchester

Alternative Style Blogger Foxxtailz

So this weekend was a bit of a disaster on my front. James and I headed off to Manchester as we had tickets to see Paramore on the Sunday night and then early Monday morning we were due to fly to Zante, the only thing is I never actually got on the plane. I am hideously terrified of flying to the point where it's all consuming. It's hard to believe I traveled the world when I was 19 and went to Japan back in 2015 with my boyfriend and his brother but every single one of those flights I was crippled with anxiety. I'm talking not sleeping/eating or wanting to do anything the weeks leading up to the flight. I couldn't concentrate at work. The week before Zante was no different, I'd come home from work and then go hide in bed dreading the flight until everything came to a head Sunday night and I just knew I couldn't put myself through it again. so I didn't. Apart from the mini break down due to the thought of having to go a plane and the dread of knowing I've disappointed my family I managed to still enjoy a weekend in one of my favorite cities.

Saturday

We headed off to Manchester after dropping my kitty off at my best friends for the week I should have been away. James needed to grab a few last minute bits for the holiday which meant I wanted to drag him around some of my fave spots in the city and some of the new places I'd been dying to check out. The weather was GORGEOUS, I love the heat, the hotter the better, I had a big old grin plastered on my face for the entirety of the day in the city while the sun was blazing down on us. I love wandering around the Northern Quarter and finding beautiful street art, I could walk for hours searching and admiring it, it's hands down my most enjoyed part of any time spent there. I really really love art in any form.  One thing I wanted to do was go find the street art in honor of the 22 victims in the attacks on the city a few weeks ago, the works were beautiful, it's just so sad the reason behind them, and why they were there. Manchester is such a strong and inspiring city, I'm forever in ore of it.

After that, I really wanted to find black milk after seeing one of my fave blogger Heather from Sugarpea post about it on her insta story. Ya gals got the worst sweet tooth ever which has run rampage recently and impacted heavily on her waistline [YOLO] but after seeing what was on offer, I really had to get me a slice of that. The inside had all the interior inspo and basically made me wish I lived there. James and I split a strawberry shake and holy hell it was incredible, next time I go back [and I'm gonna make sure it's soon] I'm going to get an edible bowl thing cos they just sound the bomb digity. After that, we found a cool place to do a little shoot for my blog and head home feeling dead content and inspired.

Sunday

Sunday was the day the anxiety was in full swing as the flight was the next day, once tea time came around I just broke down and knew I couldn't go through with it. It was also the same day my favorite band in the whole world Paramore were playing. After I had made the decisions that I couldn't go to the airport in the morning, I was able to relax and actually look forward to my fave band. The last time I saw Paramore was in 2014 at Leeds fest and it was amazing. Every time the guy's tour I always make sure I get a ticket, I've lost count of how many times I've seen them. They're just an incredible band to see live. They put on a wicked show and I screamed my heart out to every song with a huge fucking smile on my face, I felt happy, content and that nothing else mattered. It's strange isn't it what music and your favorite band can do for you? I also am LIVING for Paramore's news sound/aesthetic everything.

Monday

So today, or yesterday as you'll be reading this, we went back into Manchester to grab some food before going home. We had an absolute feast at Yo! Sushi and walked around in the heat that had managed to keep up appearances much to my delight. Again we wandered around the Northern Quater cos basically I can't keep away and I also wanted to get some cake fromHome Sweet Home, word or warning, don't eat a full piece in one sitting. . . . I know I mentioned earlier I have a sweet tooth but I felt sick for hours after hahaa, so gluttonous! But also kinda worth it.
