Why I love to wear but hate to style my favourite shorts

Alternative style blogger

Oh hey, it's me Jess, the girl that likes to wear all the colour and has a special place in her heart for mashed up outfits. They might not strictly go together but you've quickly learned that's just how I like it. I hope you didn't forget about me when I took my mini blogging break, as I certainly didn't forget about you [how could I?] ya girl just needed some time off as trying to cram in ~lyf~ blog posts and a full-time job was driving me a little crazy. I just needed some time away from this internet space I love to hate but that's for another post ;) Things I learnt in my blogger break:

1)  Schedules suck [it's my time or no time bebe]

2)  There's no point in forcing something that's not there [half-arsed posts in between ok-posts just for the sake of getting something up are not the one]

3) Everyone needs a break

So

lol, these shorts man, they're beaut but the bane of my wardrobe's existence. I bought them way back when River Island was actually good and didn't just regurgitate old styles season after season [ ohh all of the shade Glenn co co] This is a short I hate to style but love to wear. High waisted to hide the festive feasting I still haven't managed to fully get rid of, even though I'm increasingly aware it's now May o.O [did someone say YOLO?]. I always struggle to find something suitable to wear with them and when I do it just doesn't feel quite right. Basically, I always come up stumped and I end up falling out with them, have a paddy, rip them off in a huff and shove them to the deepest depths of my draws where I can pretend they don't exist with other articles of clothing that have also pissed me off.

As a last ditch attempt to make them work, I threw on an old school Paramore tee [a collection of rare gems I pride myself in] to bring a nostalgic element to this 27 year old's outfit [holy fuck 27] and did a sigh of relief when I got the shorts to work with something.

It was actually warm on the day these photos were taken like you didn't need a coat warm, after what felt like the longest winter eva I never thought I'd see the day I didn't need 62986491641 layers to leave the house to hold off frostbite. I wanted to go bare legged but:

1)It's still only British summer and I don't know if the world's quite ready for my milk bottles just yet

2) Ya gal couldn't be bothered to shave her legs #lazyshaver

Lifehack tip 36949846: To avoid shaving your legs when the temperature gets warmer, wear fishnets instead. You're totally welcome

I'm also really digging the [faux always] fur-lined sandals trend. These have been dubbed my ''dad BBQ'' sandals and I can kinda see why. I've got my eyes on a pair from Ego with snake embroidery and all the fur lining that are gonna be mine once they're back in stock. . . . and when I'm not broke. . . . which could be never . . . .

Do you have anything in your wardrobe that you love to wear but hate to style? Let me know in the comments below!

p.s soz about the well dodge lipstick stich, Jim told me it had all come off. . . . it hadn't. . . .

  5. Haha Dads BBQ. I know of those EGO shoes and I love them, just not the fur. Have you seen the fur sliders, I am not at all sure how to feel about them
