Finding my Determination

Alternative Fashion Blogger

In two weeks time I'll be the online Co-oridnator where I currently work- me, the online co-ordinator at a fashion company, who would have ever thunk it eh? Certainly not me. I'm moving from off line marketing to something I've wanted to crack for a little while now and if you had told me this time last year I'd be in the position that I'm in, I'd laugh you right outta my office in between calls from less than pleasant people. I've worked since I was 14, starting out with a paper round, the usual waitressing and Saturday shop jobs then progressing into a part time job at Morrisons that then became full time. I spent almost 7 years of my life there and to be absolutely frank, it was less than ideal. I had no life, I was constantly at work, my shifts were all over the place, I found it hard to get time off meaning I'd miss out on seeing my friends, going to family events. Heck the day my mum left the UK to move to New Zealand, I wasn't allowed the day off. It left me miserable and I hand on heart never thought I'd leave that place. It was a killa' I don't care what anyone says, working in retail is God Damned tough and anyone that does I have mad respect for them.

I guess the older I had got, the more determined I have become. It was James that made me realise this as I'm forever full of self doubt. I never thought I was ambitious, I never thought I was determined but I guess I am. I've spent years shying away from opportunity, not really knowing what I wanted to do. Now, I put my mind to something that I want to achieve or do and I really do give it all that I've got, sometimes I'm not successful, sometimes it's not as easy but I give it a bloody good go and I'm over the moon with what I have achieved thus far. Hard work does pay off. My early twenties was spent miserable in job after job I hated, chasing my break and now nearing my thirties [holy shit] I've got it. I have the start of something. This means James and I will FINALLY be at a place where financially, we are starting to get comfortable. And please don't get me wrong, this isn't a narcissistic boastful post, please forgive me if it has come across in that way, it's just after chasing this exact thing for so long I never ever dreamed it was actually possible, we've finally got it and I couldn't be more thrilled and I'm sure as hell going to give it my all.

I'm excited to get started in this role. I'm excited for the doors this will open and I'm excited to put 100% into this. I Love the company I work for, they're respectful, they're fair and I'm proud to be a part of their team. Monday's ain't so bad when you actually like the job that you do, I never thought I'd be one of those people that like what they do. This whole thing right here is a testament of what you can achieve if you have faith in yourself, something I wish I had a long time ago.

It would mean the absolute world to me if you considered voting for me in the Blogosphere blog awards under the fashion category! I out 110% effort into my blog and there's nothing I enjoy more then creating content for my little corner of the internet <333 you can vote using the link here
