Ruby Ruth Dolls

Ruby Ruth Dolls

My home was invaded last week by what can only be described as the cutest blogger mail ever. Let me rewind you back to December where you may or may not have watched my ''What I got for Christmas'' video, if not I've linked you up cos everyone loves a shameless plug ;). I touched upon receiving an irresistibly adorable Ruby Ruth doll of my own from Jim.

These cute creations are hand made my Jenny in Brighton using recycled fabric, so not only are they uniquely adorbz , but they're also Eco-friendly too! Each doll has their own personality, name, and thing they like to do proudly displayed on their label.

Let me introduce you to the gang:

''Ray hasn't missed Glastonbury since 1971. He wears his harlequin catsuit all year round''

''Edith has been a lollipop lady for 25 years''

''Shirley has run the cloakroom at her local nightclub for the past eight years''

and then my very own doll:

Jessica Alternative fashion blogger

The doll James gave me he had requested it be personalised for me, he chose the name, hobby and asked for the overall appearance to be bright, he made it even more personal by sending off one of his jumpers to be made into a hat - so cute! I was made up when I received my doll at Christmas, having my own bespoke doll made was a very thoughtful and incredible unique gift idea. I love having them dotted around the house, just catching a glimpse of their big eyes and colourful bodies brings a smile to my face.

Not only can you customise your doll, you can choose from different sizes and body shapes too, and for the cat lovers out there, you can also get kitties.

From today until midnight Sunday, you can use the code FOXXTAILZ20 to get 20% off any doll on the site and start up a cute collection of your own!

The Boots that Love to Hate me

Over the knee Boots

I'm going to tell you a boot related story now. . . .

Just before winter last year, I wanted to invest in a pair of long boots, you know the kind, suede effect, block heel - Bloody lovely.
They are one of the most uncomfortable things to wear ever. Remember that time Monica from friends spent a ton of money on a pair of boots that made her feet feel like they were dying? Yeah well, that's me except I didn't spend a ton of money on this pair, but they certainly do make my feet feel like they have been sent to their death.

I wondered if it was a case of simply needing to wear them in a bit, but after severall attempts at doing so, that was defiantly not the case - as Monica said '' The guy that made these boots hates feet and wants to see them die.'' A tad dramatic albeit but all truth. They've been stored away all winter pull because I couldn't hack wearing them until I came across them again this weekend and decided to give them one last outing before I send them off to the charity shop for someone else more harden them me in the shoe department to give them the boot life they so deserve. [I have no idea what I'm on about either].

I wanted to try the whole dress/t-shirt dress and long boots thing and thought it would be the perfect last outing for the boots that love to hate me. It just left me feeling sadder that I can't get along with them as I really fell in love with this look. Such first world eh?

Have you got an item of clothing or shoes that you juts can't get along with no matter how hard you try? Let me know in the comments below!

Pastel for Spring? How Original.

Zara Pastel Pink Leather Jacket

Jim and I went into York for food and a little shop on my birthday last Tuesday and I feel like we
experienced ALL the weather elements in about 6 hours that day, like holy shit this was a very windswept day, we even had frigging hail for crying out loud and all I was wearing was a flimsy pair of shorts and a not very warm faux leather jacket, cute? Yes, practical? No.  I love Spring, I really really do, however, I don't love spring when it makes me look like I'm doing that crabxcore band stare off into the distance glare when I'm trying to take shots for my blog. . . .

Regardless of the aforementioned weather elements, when I woke up on Tuesday I was greeted by the bluest sky I'd seen all year and felt well and truly in a spring mood and wanted that to reflect in an outfit. I dug out my fave faux leather pastel pink jacket from Zara that had been regulated to the back of my wardrobe until the warmer months. It's literally littered with pins from all my fave places, because do you really own one of the Zara pastel jackets if you don't cover it with quirky pins?! I also really wanted to wear my high-waisted daisy shorts I've had for the longest time that I love but equally, I don't really get much wear out of. Fun fact, whenever I seem to wear these shorts I always find myself outside in some sort of downpour with nowhere to take shelter, this occasion was no exception to that and even though these pictures are bright, I was fucking cold and to be honest the weather for most of the day did seem to turn a little bit miserable. I always struggle to find something to go with them on the top half which 9 times out of 10 is usually something white which I don't really own much of, I mostly have white items in the form of scruffy old band t-shirts I've had since school. I then remembered my lovely friend Jess had lent me the most gorgeous shirt that has a lovely pleated back.

As I'm practically living in my creeper boots from T.U.K they seemed the obvious footwear choice for the day because really just look at them, I won't be taking these off anytime soon.  Can we all also just take a moment to appreciate my bag? I had been eyeing up this bag from Killstar for literally forever and was so pleased when I opened my gifts from James to see it was one of them. It will make a nice change interchanging this with my Topshop rucksack I take everywhere with me.

Are you looking forward to dressing for Spring as much as I am?

The Dress I Just Didn't Want to Quit

Monki Hand Dress

For a little while now I have been admiring from afar the oversized shirts after seeing them posted on various social media platforms as well as that I have been literally drooling over everything on Monki's site forever and decided to take the plunge and order me a few bits finally on the behalf of my papa for my birthday - Thanks Dad!

I was so excited when the parcel showed up, but soon felt deflated when I tried the dress on, quite frankly I hated it. Well, that's not strictly true - I loved the dress, I loved the shape, the bold print, the colours, the shape, the bold print, the crape material it's made from and the fact it has MOTHER CLUCKING POCKETS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. What I should have said was I hated it on me. I didn't have the heart to send it back and I hate not being able to style something so I did what any normal person would do, I stuffed it back in the bag it came in and pretended it wasn't there.

I would visit it every now and then, just to look at it as despite not feeling great in it I was still a lot a little bit in love with it. Until one day I just thought fuck this and decided to give wearing it another go. I'm so happy I did as I loved the results, especially when pairing the dress with my new fave shoe baes ever ever from T.U.K like seriously can we all just take a moment? These have appeared on my blog a few times now and with good reason but I haven't really gone into depth as to why exactly I love them so much.

After attending LondonEdge last month, I was very generously gifted a voucher that entitled me to pick out a pair of shoes from T.U.K I love me some creepers and I love T.U.K, my current pair have seen better days so this couldn't have come at a more perfect time! Instead of the traditional creeper shoe,  I wanted to go with a boot and fell head over heels in love with these monochrome babes in all their pointed buckle glory. It's safe to safe I've hardly taken them off since they arrived on my doorstep the other week.

I finished off the outfit with my gorge coat from Zara [which is now in the half price sale which makes me want to cry a bit] and my seashell bag my BFF got me for my birthday making this whole outfit a dream.
