You're Welcome

The Ragged Priest you're welcome dress

Hi my names Jess and I like wear sheer dresses in February - apparently.

I can't wait for summer, mainly because I keep buying clothes that aren't weather appropriate, but can you blame a girl when they're this damn pretty? I didn't think so. This dress was a smidge of a challenge to style up as its super super ''holy Lord you can see everything'' sheer. Which is fine I can be a exhibitionist if I've gotta be, I just don't want to be a exhibitionist with pneumonia you dig? I had one of two options:

1) Test out this bad boy with tights and see how that turns out

2) Suck it up

I had to choose the latter as if I'm honest the dress did look pretty dumb with tights underneath. It was a total no go. It also kinda defeated the point of being sheer, I think you're supposed to wear it so you can show off your prettiest bralett and what not plus no one really wants to see how far you can pull your tights up. . . . instead I dug out my favourite bralett, my very very short shorts from Urban Outfitters, my fishnets and gave that a whirl instead. Outcome? Not too bad! However, next time I want to wear this get up and the weather is still Boltic, I might try the dress over a pair of black skinny jeans, you know, to prevent the impending pneumonia I would most certainly catch If I swanned around dressed like this until summer.

To break up the ultra girly vibe - I mean, it is glitter and pink and has super sweet ruffle edged sleeves worthy of the Harajuku girls over in Tokyo. I wanted to see how a MAJOR contrast would work i.e, big chunky boots and my parka. Again, not too bad and defiantly helps with pneumonia prevention.

How would you have styled this dress? As always, let me know in the comments below <3

  5. I really like how you've styled this Jess but I agree maybe not great for our freezing cold British weather haha. I would of styled it with jeans like you've said in your post; the braettle is an ace idea though! Festival puts it maybe? :)
