Buy Less Choose Well

Zara Punk Bomber Jacket

I mentioned a few post's back that I had really really declutter my wardrobe, really stripped it back to the bare minimum. I gave away stuff I hadn't worn in years or would never wear again. I tend to hold on to some stuff  for sentimental value but I was ruthless and the finished result left me feeling great. My wardrobe gems were no longer hiding behind 10 year old + band T's and it made choosing what I wanted to wear a hell of a lot easier. This new space I created left me ready to hunt for really key pieces that I can wear and wear again. I'm fond of a good statement item, they can brighten up any drab CBA outfit in an instant. One bit of advice I'm planning to adopt is from my all time fave fashion hero Vivienne Westwood  ''Buy Less Choose Well''  and that's exactly what I plan to do.

So let me introduce you to my latest statement piece, one that has become very much a wardrobe favourite of mine, I have seen a few bloggers wear, including one of my faves, Lucy over at LJLV. It's this bomb AF bomber jacket [lol see what I did there ;)]. Originally this had been a surprise gift James had planned to give me this as a Valentines day present but last week I was having a bad day at work and to cheer my up he gave it to me earlier, lets just say #boydidgood I've got a bit of a thing for slogan/big design's at the back of clothes at the moment and when I opened this up I literally basked it it's studded, leather effect glory. One might even say love at first site ;)

I can't wait for jacket weather. You know the type I mean, where you can essentially just throw on a small jacket and not worry about not being warm enough, nothing bums me out more then a fierce AF outfit that is then covered up by a humongous winter coat. Not cute. I've recently accumulated a nice little collection of statement jackets that I'm dying to wear once the frosty weather lets up.

The rest of the ensemble was a spur of the moment thing that I just threw on before my trip to Brighton and I really really liked it. I haven't touched my mom jeans in ages as I didn't really feel like the colour was seasonally appropriate, but now I'm at the right side of winter, I'll defo be cracking these badboys out more and more. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, and to be honest a few years ago I would have never ever considered even trying a pair of mom jeans on but these have become a well loved item in my wardrobe, worn with my Vans high tops and stripy socks worthy of a Avril Lavigne music video circa 1998, it made the outfit all that more fun.

Have you changed your attitude to shopping? Do you have any wardrobe key pieces that you wear again and again? I'd love to know in the comments below <3

  1. Yes! I am 100% like this at the moment too, clearing out my wardrobe, trying to make use of what I've got and style it up differently.
That jacket is just amazing, but I really don't need any more jackets :(

  3. That jacket is amazing, and so is your hair girl. I definitely need to sort out my wardrobe it's full of things I keep telling myself I'm going to wear again but clearly I will never wear them. I need your brutal attitude.
