Being a Fashion Blogger Isn't Always 100% 'Glam'

Zara Joggers

I had a little bit of an outfit rut at the weekend when it came to shooting for content this week. I lacked inspiration. I was cold, I didn't want to go outside, I was feeling that way out. I just wanted to wrap up in my comfiest joggers and eat all the stodge my body craves in the colder months. I've found myself increasingly aware that I don't really have any winter attire thats worth a blog post. Sure I like to come up with quirky and interesting things to wear and show on my blog. Fun? Yes! Practical and warm? Frig no.

I'm in the same boat as most people in January. I'm broke. I can't afford new clothes and if I'm honest, as much as a love to shop, I really don't want to buy stuff just so I've got content for my blog. I've adopted the ''Do I really need this/have something similar to this" approach when buying clothes [James would disagree] but it's something I need to stick to. I've literally just sent 6 bags brimming full of clothes off to the charity ship after a mammoth and ruthless gutting of my wardrobe a few weeks ago. Stuff I hadn't worn in years and probably wouldn't again, so after stripping my wardrobe bare, it seemed silly to fill it up again with stuff for the sake of a blog post.

I started pondering this and realised I apply way too much pressure on myself in regards to the things I post on here. I worry that my content will be boring if I don't style up something fun. Rummaging through my wardrobe looking at things that I've worn on here far too many times and wondering if I could get away with blogging about it again. That I shouldn't really put up something super ordinary, but sometimes I just wanna wear a T-shirt, my beanie and a pair of joggers and that's exactly what I fucking did. Let me introduce you to the other Jess. 80% of the time my hair is 90% talc, purely cos I hate it when my hair fades so I leave it as long as possible before I give  it a good scrub. I'm currently on day 3 and still going strong ;) I hardly brush my hair cos I cba and then curse myself when I'm to faced with the task. I apply my make up dead sloppy, like I don't care if one of my eyebrows is way bigger then the other for my eyeliner looks ridic. I'm a scruff at heart I really really am. Slight disclaimer, I do however shower twice a day, I'm not that gross yano that I don't take part in regular bathing ;)

The colder months we have been facing this is exactly how I've been spending my weekends. Warm and comfortable. My papa very kindly bough me these Zara joggers for Christmas last year and they have made lazy weekends that bit more glorious. Of course I love wearing stupid stuff, I love clashing all the patterns and wearing sheer pink glitter dresses [wait till my next post ;)] that keep me warm 0%. But sometimes there's nothing like hiding out in your joggers at the weekend, so why the fuck not show you that side too?

  2. Love how honest this post is, as a fashion blogger myself I can definitely relate to it 100%! You look just as amazing in joggers though! I love joggers a lot too, and I certainly don't mind wearing them on the daily! Just because you're a fashion blogger doesn't mean you can't have dress down days am I right!
