Snap Back Stylin'

Salaam Apparel Snapback

By 'eck its been a while since I wore a snap back. In my ''skater days'' i.e trying to learn to skate and failing whilst simultaneously dripping in brands such as Adio, DC and lets not forget Volcom, I had a nice lil collection of snapback/hats that perfectly complemented the skater rapport [ahem] I was trying to go for. Oh what the hell, basically guys, basically I wanted to be Avril Lavigne ok? So when I was asked if I fancied styling up a snap back from the guys at Salaam Apparel I got a little nostalgic and thought why the heck not. It couldn't have come at a better time because:

1) Storm Dorris has been a right old cow reeking absolute havoc on my hair, ain't nobody got time fo that

2) My roots are fricking ridiculous

3) I'd been wanting to give the snap back thing another go but not knowing how to go about it or where for that matter

I opted for a dreamy Burgundy colour, [girls got a thing about Burgundy] with a peace sign stitched on the back cos I love everyone and I'm about the hippy life, or so James keeps telling me. I had a dig about my wardrobe and accidentally put together a very Jess circa 2008/9 outfit and it made me realise I kinda missed it. I missed wearing plaid shirts, I missed living in my vans and I missed wearing a snapback. As mush as I do love dressing on the weird side, sometimes its nice to go back to what you known where you came from with style. Shout out to me for still managing to include the jeans/fishnet combo into the mix. I told you in my last post I'd be finding any excuse to do so. It's just a shame Dorris made my thighs really cold.

Have you been busting out any nostalgic pieces from your wardrobe? How would you have styled    this snap back? I'd love to know in the comments below <3

Neon Lights and Holes in my Tights

Zara Studded Coat

Spolier alert: This post is a little on the photo heavy side, but how could I not when the place we shot at was this cool?

I've been wanting to go to God's own Junkyard for the longest time and managed to fit in a visit in my world wind long weekend in London last week. I'm still recovering from a crazy haze of barely any sleep, too much cider, a shut off fashion week [lol] and an idiot that made James and I miss our Mega bus home. Regardless it was one of the best weekends ever. The pink glow and the dreamy neon signs in all their glory made this a very very blog worthy place to shoot, I really couldn't pass up the opportunity. I've also filmed a cheeky lil look book for my YouTube channel there too for your viewing pleasure in the next week or so, you're totally welcome ;)

This outfit was originally what I planned on wearing to LondonEdge but for whatever reason on that day, I just wasn't feeling it and went with my back up outfit, gals gotta have choices. I have no idea why as I felt sassy as hell swanning around London in it. [Then again that could be mainly be down to my Zara coat, I feel like a total boss whenever I wear it]. I'm a little scared of midi dresses, whenever I've tried them out in the past I was always left feeling all kinds of  ridiculous, I'm quite very tall, so trying to style one up shouldn't have been a problem, but for whatever reason, I just felt completely out of my comfort zone. I spied this in the recent Zara sale and being a sucker for tartan this one change my view on the midi.

Styling it with a long sleeve mesh, my creepers and fishnets, I felt grungy AF. As the weathers getting a little bit more mild [apart from the recent attack from storm Dorris the betch]  I have an excuse to crack out my fishnets at any given chance with my outfits. Something I have no intention of stopping anytime soon.

How would you have styled this midi? Is there any types of clothing you tend to avoid? Let me know in the comments below <3

The A-Z of Me

UK Blogger

OK guys confession time. I'm not really feeling my blog at the moment, mainly because I'm not really feeling the content I'm producing for it lately. I can't seem to find my bloggers flow which is leaving me all kinds of deflated with this space. I have wicked images I can't wait to show you, I just can't seem to find the words to do them the justice they need. In order to break this funk I'm currently in, I thought I would do an A-Z first seen by the lovely Lucy over at LJLV when she tackled blogmas, to try and ease me back in.

A- Anime: A few of my faves are Deathnote, Blue Exorcist and Parasyte, I like to pretend I'm in Japan whilst watching them.

B- Best friend: Charlotte, I could do a blogpost of it's own listing the reasons why I love Charlotte so much. Gal is CRAZY and I freaking love her for it.

C- Cassie: My cat, she brings me endless amount of joy, I would be lost without my little fluffy pal.

D- Dark; Soon to be 27, I may or may not still be scared of the dark. . . .

E- [The] Exorcist: Holy shit this film scared me, stupidly at a sleep over I watched this when I was like 9 and now I can't even look at posters, images etc without having flashbacks of pure terror.

F- Foxes: Favorite animals in the world ever, i really want to go to fox island in Japan.

G-Geisha: Totally fascinated by this culture and the pure discipline and dedication Geisha's have.

H- Hayley Williams: Flamed hair babe has been my ideal since I was 16, she is forever a source of
inspiration for me.

I- Iguana: My fave pole move that I'm currently trying to crack on my own!

J- James my boyfriend, I don't care if this is soppy James is my absolute everything

K- Karma: I'm a firm believer in Karma fully trusting in letting it do its thing and righting things out in the end.

L- Leeds: My home town <3

M- Marathon: I love to run and I'm hoping to complete my first half a marathon this year

N- [My] Neighbor Totoro: The dreamiest Studio Ghibli that I could just watch again and again <3

O- October:My fave month! Did someone say Halloween ;)?

P- Pole: I freaking love pole, I wish I had started it up sooner, there's nothing better then cracking a trick you never in your lifetime would think you would be able to do.

Q- Quentin Tarantino: MARRY ME PLZ.

R-  Reading: if I'm not at work or sleeping, I've usually got my head stuck in a good book.

S- Slytherin: FELLOW SLYTHERIN'S HOLLA'

T- Tokyo: most definitely left my heart in Tokyo, hands down the best place I've been to ever leading me to have a huge obsession with the city.

U- Unicorns: Don't get the hype, soz!

V- Vivienne Westwood: The only designer I'd folk out money for.

W- Wanderlust: Despite my humongous fear of flying, there's nothing I like more then exploring foreign lands.

X- Xenomorphs: James can never understand why but I think those aliens are really freaking cute.

Y- YouTube: I'm just starting to get into the swing of it and have been really enjoying creating Vlogs and Looks books for my channel.

Z- Zelda: The Character from ''Pet Semetray'' scared the hell out of me not doing my fear of the dark thing any good.

So for now, I'm admitting temporary defeat and taking a bit of a blog break to concentrate on myself and get a bit of inpso back. Catch you on the flip side.

Rainy Daze

Rainy Daze Co

Man, it's only February and 2017 has kicked off to a whirlwind of a start. I'm forever grateful of every single opportunity I've have been given through my blog, this one project however, I was absolutely thrilled to get behind and be part of. From the guys that brought us Honour Over Glory, you know the ones, they gave us the Honour tube tops and tube socks, collabs with Rik Lee, it was the first place I started shopping other then the high street, realising theres more out there then just Topshop and therefore spent most of my early 20's dressed in their brand. Well they're back, but with a clothing line so fresh, it went live only this week.

Cue Rainy Daze.

The drop has kicked off with a bunch of monochrome goodness with designs to pull at any pop punk kids heart strings. With slogans such as ''When it rains it pours'' and my personal fave ''Ain't no sunshine'' on unisex tees, hoodies and beanies. Its great to to see the guys back at it. I'm totally in love with the huge illustrations located on the back of the hoodies, we all know I'm a fan of the party in the back situations on clothes ;) This isn't just another clothing line, Rainy Daze is something you should keep firmly on your radar.

We spent the day scouting out cool locations to shoot in on what can only be described as the coldest Saturday ever in Leeds. It was cool though as we had an absolute blast on the day brimming with excitement for what is in store for this brand.

Be sure to check them out and get your hands on some of the new drop: Rainy Daze Co

Experimenting with Darker Fashion

Alternative Fashion Blogger

This year I wanted to explore the realms of pastel goth/Kawaii fashions in more depth. Feeling inspired by the dark fashions I saw at London Edge this weekend and at previous shows, I wanted to try my hand at creating my own version of it. I found myself itching to try and channel a lil bit of Wioleth or Olivia Emily in my outfits as it's something I have always admired from a far but really never took the plunge. There tends to be a lot of all black errythang involved , girls gotta be eased in as all black ensambles scare me just a little bit. I don't really want to fall into a habit of dressing exclusively in all black. However dabbling in it every now and again doesn't hurt right?

I spotted this vintage reclaimed mesh top in Urban Outfitters earlier in 2016, but with a £49 price tag [I shit you not] I left it in the shop. Ya'll gotta take out a mini loan to buy something in their. My patience paid off as I later bought it in the New Years sale for £6. I feel like I've got all the edges when I wear it.

I went braless [cheeky] being blessed in the small boob department means I'm able to get away with such luxuries with minimum risk of indecent exposure. It also means that I don't have to deal with the bra strap on show thing that usually I don't mind but with the way this top is made it didn't really work. Living and learning from this post, I thought I'd be a bit more weather appropriate savvy [I say a bit but lets face it, it's not really that much better] and opted for a pair of leather look leggings and my trusty chunky faux leather boots that have seen me through the majority of winter.

How would you have styled this top? Have you managed to grab any bargains lately?
