10 Hours in Schiphol Airport with CitizenM

10 Hours in Amsterdam Schiphol Airport Citizen M
Me and my Bezza back in Amsterdam 2013

10 hours in Schiphol Airport ? No problem! After a long haul flight, and facing a layover before you catch your next connection, sometimes the last thing you wanna do as weary traveler, is go off and do some exploring of your current surroundings. Wondering what you could possibly do in 10 hours in an airport? You're in luck cos I'm about to let you in on it!

 Rijksmuseum – Holland Boulevard

1) Rijksmusem - Holland Boulevard
Ok so this possibly one of the coolest things to do, did you know Schiphol airport has its very own museum? If you're anything like me and love museums this is a perfect way to spend some time whilst waiting or your next flight. The exhibits do change quite frequently, so even if you have already paid the museum a visit chances are they will changed things up so you wouldn't be seeing the same thing twice!

2) Sheraton Hotel - Fitness and Spa
Any budding gym goers out there? I'm a bit of a self proclaimed fitness enthusiast [ahem] myself and always feel tip top after bossing a 5K run and a bit of a weights sesh. Not a fan of the gym? You can also take advantage of the spa facilities, all this for 20 euros, could you think of a better way to relax pre-flight?

3) Holland Casino - Holland Boulevard

Fancy trying your hand at a bit of Black Jack? Or playing the slots more your thing? If you're wanting to kill a bit of time before your flight between 6.30-19.45pm
try your luck and who knows you could be a winner!

4) Exquisite - Holland Boulevard

Ok so this is something I can get behind, a little bit of retail therapy! Be it that you've forgotten to pick up some gifts for your loved ones or you wanna you know treat yo' self Exquisite has the best range of cigars, whisky, wines and liquors oh fancy!

5) Bubbles Bar and Seafood - Lounge 1

Looking for somewhere to have a chill before you board your flight and grab some food? Open 6am until 9pm this is the must try spot for freshly prepared seafood and a cheeky flute of Champagne or 2 ;) Situated alongside a salt water aquarium, you can watch the little fishy critters do their thang whilst enjoying some tasty eats!

Have you been to Schiphol Airport or will be doing so very soon? I'd love to know in the comments below what you thought of it!

*The post is collaboration with CitizenM but as always the views are 100% my own :)

  1. As someone who has had more long haul flights than anyone should ever have, I wish I'd stayed in an airport with this much going for it! Everytime I have extended stays in airports everything is shut and I'm bored because everything is closed and the seating is impossible to sleep on.
