This Is How We Do

Grunge Fashion

If you’ve got me on Twitter or  lurk at my stuff [hiya] you’ll know I went to London last week, whilst I was their I got to do the LYDC snapchat take over which was such a blast, and meet my tattoo hero and all round beautiful human Grace Neutral. I used to love going to London but i’ve realised things whilst being in my old age, I like my own bed, my own cat and my stuff and I am v. lazy.

We stayed in the the most ghetto chic hotel that was all kinds of grim making me want to run back to Yorkshire as soon as we arrived. Nestled between half demolished buildings, I just wanted to be back in my cottage #snob.

Grim hotel aside, dreams came true when I finally got my own hand poked Ghibli from Grace, chilling out with her was fun and for the whole time I had to try my upmost hardest not to fan girl. I did break my cool and asked for a selfie with her at the end, I really couldn’t not. . . . could I? Grace has a wicked sense of style that i’ve dabbled in trying to channel.

The studio was situation down brick lane so we spent most of our 3 days in the Hackney area, marvelling at the street art and urban feel of Bricklane. I was lucky enough to shoot with Cara and Kate to name a few. LOL jokes, I just happened to spot some wicked Graffiti with some famous fashion faces.

As a general rule I don’t mix red and pink together. Its a colour combination that makes me cringe but I *think* this here get up could be the exception to my only fashion rule I have. I like to clash but that combo makes me gip. As mentioned in a previous post i’ve started to edge more to urban/trying not to dress like a chav and I like it. I think its the bandanna which has been surgically attached to my head for a good while now, embracing old 2006 dressing habits.

I really actually quite like how this outfit turned out punk edge with my forever favourites and hearts eyes for my tartan trousers from Ark [RIP i’m still not over it] hiding away my gut yey for high waisted errythang and kawaii flare with my ‘’weird girl’ halter top from Happy Monday, you know for a top I love so much I hardly wear it. Note to self, make use out of said top this summer/spring. All elements I love, all elements I think I managed to channel quite successfully in one outfit.

  1. I need to get myself some tartan trousers! I'm such a lover of tarten but barely own any, I guess it's one of those patterns that take over an outfit and can be a bit intimidating.
Also not a fan of red and pink together but I also agree, this looks good!
I'm really infatuated with the whole nautical pinup style at the moment, navy blue with black hair and red lips is just ... *bites fist*
